erbgutverändernde sowie fortpflanzungsgefährdende Wirkung (I know what they mean, just not the "popular" English terms).///Verhalten in Umweltkompartimenten: pastös under normalen Umweltbedingungen; schwimmt auf dem Wasser; wird durch Adsorption an Erdbodenpartikeln immobilisiert; Produkt kannin Organismen angereichert werden. (are "Kompartimenten" environmental elements?///is pastös paste-like?///what is meant by 'Adsorption an Erdbodenpartikeln' and 'anreichern in Organismen'?.
A lot of questions, I know. Thanks in advance for any help.

Unsure what you mean by "the popular terms"..., but the above 2 are right.
Kompartiment: I would use "sections of the environment" (element is potentially misleading here).
Pastös: don't know for sure, but why not (of a) paste-like (consistency), pasty...?
schwimmt: floats
Adsorption: is fixed by adsorption on to soil particles
Anreicherung in Organismen: would need whole phrase, but suggest a literal translation should be OK.

Comment: "Both answers were extremely helpful. By "popular" I meant latest jargon, and repro-toxic fit that bill. Also many thanks to Tom for "accumulate" - I was stuck, and that was exactly the term I needed. Thanks again, Beth."

erbgutverändernde sowie fortpflanzungsgefährdende Wirkung: Literally: genetically mutant and reproductively hazardous effect; I'd use __genetic and reproductive hazards__ . The former denotes damage of the genes (genotype) that may statistically affect future offspring; the latter, direct damage of a fetus during gestation, usually early gestation, when damaging a single cell, or a few cells, can affect an entire organ systems. ---

pastös: pasty, puffy, swollen ---
'Adsorption an Erdbodenpartikeln' ; adsoprtion in soil particles ---
anreichern (micro): enrich ; also: accumulate, concentrate; angereichert: enriched (with organisms) ---
