German term

Zugseile

German to English Tech/Engineering Sports / Fitness / Recreation exercise equipment

I don't really get the "Zug" bit. "Zugstange", "Zugseilen," etc.

Danke.

browsE, of course

Ron: brows around these 3: hauling/hoisting/pull rope
Ron Stelter (asker) Dec 20, 2005:
Note If you could find a photo of what they are talking about, it would be helpful. I've seen even various mini-steppers, but assume they are talking about a bigger piece of equipment.

German term (edited): Zugseilen

traction rope

there is a picture, although not of a stepper, but the ropes can be seen here. They are used to adjust the "resistance" if you will, i. e. the work out will be "easier" or "harder" depending on the tension of the rope
