Depots (here)

German to English Other Trade Fair
"Auch ist mir bekannt, dass insbesondere der Dentalhandel über die Depots in zahlreichen Veranstaltungen die IDS-Neuheiten aufzeigt."

I'm not sure whether "warehouses" or the literal "depots" would be right in this context. Could "Depots" maybe be halls if the "Veranstaltungen" were more trade fairs? TIA for your assistance.

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com May 8, 2003:
Entries? Maybe it's something like "entries". After all "Depot" can mean "deposit" as well as "depot/warehouse", so thinking laterally, maybe the text is referring to "despoits", i.e. entries in events.

Still not sure though.

Dental Depot

the whole name in German would read *Dentaldepot*. Those are trade outlets, also with showrooms and the like.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks for that Edith. "Dentaldepot" was actually in my Bucksch dental dictionary, although I wasn't entirely happy with the translations given in that (dental depot or dental supply house). There are no search engine hits at all for "dental supply house", and "dental depot" gets mostly hits on foreign sites. In the end I tried "dental warehouse" and was better pleased with the hits (pretty much all native English sites). So I'm going to go with "dental warehouses" here. Thank you very much for your help, and thanks to Klaus for his suggestion also."
