free of serious diseases
Just a guess: Anamnese ist frei probably means that his medical history doesn't show any serious diseases, disorders or the like.

free of is of course not a terribly good expression, maybe something like: medical history doesn\'t comprise any serious conditions

Just thought of something
It MIGHT mean that there is no evidence of the CURRENT condition (whatever the patient is being trated/examined for) in their history?
I have very little experience in this field though, it is just a thought.
