German term
Vd. ant.
German to English
Medical
Medical (general)
Diagnose: Vd. ant. Hypertonie mit Entgleisungen
From a German medical invoice.
This is from a very poor quality fax. I thought at first it was 'Vd. auf' meaning 'suspected' but a few google searches turned up "Verdacht ant." Does this mean the same thing? "suspected" seems to fit the context.

German term (edited):
art. Hypertonie
Selected
arterial hypertension
I think it's a typo ("ant. Hypertonie" instead of "art. Hypertonie").

I agree that "Vd." probably means "Verdacht".

Note from asker:
Thanks. I can see now that it may well be 'art.' So the 'auf' after Vd. has been left out. I will go ahead with 'suspected arterial hypertension with decompensation' |

I think your first guess was right, although the normal abbreviation is V. a. But sometimes the doctors don't keep to the rules. I can't think of what ant. Hypertonie might be, and the "auf" would still be missing.
