Discussion

Martin Wenzel (asker) Feb 18, 2009:
Aren't we talking about how many cubic metres of solid timbre fit into the different waggon types?

Frei Waggon Lieferung: Mindestausladung Ea(s): 45fm, Ro(o)s, Sps: 58fm, Snps:65fm

David Moore (X) Feb 18, 2009:
Martin, do you think these questions should be reclassified from "materials etc." to "transportation"?
Ivana Zuppa-Baksa Feb 18, 2009:
A guess I didn't have additional information, that's why I only guessed.
jccantrell Feb 18, 2009:
What comes in place of the ...??
Michael Harris Feb 18, 2009:
More context Ivana´s suggestion does make sense as you have not entered any values in your question. Could you please provide a little more context
Martin Wenzel (asker) Feb 18, 2009:
Don't think so... This doesn't make sense, as the logs would stick out by 45 fm

minimum (total) loading

That would be my suggestion; minimum tonnage amount to be "loaded out from the originating point". Not really overhang, or whatever...

And the "fM" refers to the cubic quantity of wood to be loaded onto each wagon; it has nothing to do with the length either, as the wagons are up to about 20 metres long, so 45 fM wouldn't go down very well with the railways if it were the length of a log, would it...
Peer comment(s):

agree Michael Harris : this sounds the best, considering that the fm (that was not mentioned anywhere at all) is being addressed here

58 mins

minimum length

OK, this is based on your earlier question and the whole context. It sounds like you are selling the logs and this might be a promise that all the logs are at least "45 fm" long (so you are promising not to try to fit some scrawny little twigs in the middle of the big load).

I realize, it is a reach from the German, but given your context, you might look into this.
