German term

standardorientiert

German to English Bus/Financial Management
I am translating a program that is used to evaluate management skills and one of the company's core competencies is "Standardorientiert".

The following description is given in the text:
- Kennt/nutzt „Best Practice“ Methoden
- Arbeitet strukturiert und methodisch
- Wandelt Aufgaben in Prozesse um und kann diese nachvollziehbar erläutern

Standard-oriented makes sense to me but I'm not getting a whole lot of hits on google if I search it in parentheses, which makes me wonder if it is commonly used in English.

Is this commonly used on English? Does anyone have any better suggestions?

Discussion

Steffen Walter Oct 6, 2008:
Typo corrected :-)
cactusclaire (X) (asker) Oct 6, 2008:
Clarification of use The part that I failed to mention is that it is used several times in a list of skills or competencies, so it needs to be something that I can formulate as a noun. For example:
Analysis,
Strategy,
Communication,
Teamwork

So some of the suggestions would work and others would be difficult to fit in. Sorry for not providing all the necessary information!

Thanks so much for the help!

Standardorientiert Sorry for the typo! That was completely my mistake!

standard(s)-based

If this is some sort of "headline", I'd probably write "Standard(s)-based approach". Please note that the German contains a typo and should read "standardorientiert".

On second thought, even a "standardised approach" could be meant here.

Admittedly, I find the German term rather odd - with and without explanation.

methodical

You might try this but I think you need to consult the client. Following standards is hardly a competence whereas being moethodical might be.

Considering the clarification, I think 'methodical work' might be appropriate. But I#ve not seen it listed as a core competence on its own.

Subscribes to (or supports) company standards (or values)

A response from left field!
Of course my confidence is high. Anyone can have high confidence when it comes to the psycho/management babble beloved of performance evaluators and human resource gurus, and now, sadly, imitated in German.
Example sentence:

X is a real team player! He/she shows oustanding commitment to company values by subscribing whole-heartedly to the company's core business values.
