As you suggest. The Eurofound site I refer to seems reliable enough as a source. residential/domestic services might produce quite a number of results, but does it include the concept of "nahe"? I'm not convinced

What is meant is housecleaning, but also any plumber, electrician etc. doing work in your home. 20% of the labour portion of the invoice are tax-deductible even for private homes. lawmakers gave this tax incentive to reduce the attraction of obtaining services on the underground market. |
| Thanks for your help, but neither "domestic" nor "janitorial" service is what is meant, but rather any kind of work done in and around the house by a tradesperson, e.g. electrician, plumber etc., charging separately for his/her work. |

Die Nähe zum Haushalt bezieht sich darauf, dass der Steruerpflichtige die Dienstleistungen für seinen eigenen Haushalt in Anspruch nimmt. Hierzu zählen die Arbeit von Hausangestellten, Pflegeleistungen. aber auch Handwerkerleistungen. Wichtig ist, dass die Leistungen für dem eigenen Haushalt zugute kommen. Z.B. habe ich statt mein Wohnzimmer selbst zu tapezieren einen Handwerker engagiert und ihn regulär bezahlt. Dieses Geld konnte ich von der Steuer absetzen.Das ist wohl kaum mit "domestic services" übersetzbar.
