German term

nach deren Übergabe

German to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s)
I may be reading this completely wrong but 'nach' doesn't seem to make sense in the context without a comma or 'und':

Why would you be making alterations to something 'after' delivering it to the client, unless this is some kind of supplementary, post-service deal?

I also agree with Tony's translation.
i.e. .....................

This could be understood, if really an IT application is meant. Can you tell us, Ben if this is the case?
Armorel Young Jul 4, 2014:
I think you're right, Tony ... and it is "verpflichtet sich dazu,"
TonyTK Jul 4, 2014:
Surely the ... ... "dazu" belongs to "verpflichtet" (er verpflichtet sich dazu, ...).

In a quick and dirty translation, I read it as "Within the context of this service agreement on (relating to) maintenance, the contractor undertakes to make modifications to an application after it has been handed over to the client".

It would make sense if we're talking about updating an IT application.

We need a native speaker to confirm that the "zur Pflege dazu" isn't a strange way of saying "in addition to (maintenance/care/whatever)".
Armorel Young Jul 4, 2014:
Your interpretation is correct I think your interpretation is right - as part of the service provided (zur Pflege dazu) the Auftragnehmer agrees to make changes after delivery.
