Hi everyone,
I am having a bit of trouble deciphering the meaning of "Kurz.-kennz" from "Kurz.-kennz Art der Gef."
It is from a company's technical document listing the types of hazards associated with industrial machines and I know "Art der Gef." means "Arten der Gefährdungen" (types of hazards) but what does "Kurz.-kennz" stand for?
Thank you for your answers.

Abbreviation
Could this be short for 'Kurzkennzeichen'? In which case, it could mean an abbreviation but without the whole sentence I'm not sure.

symbol, (warning) sign
Obviously "Kurzkennzeichen" (despite the inappropriate way of abbreviation) – your context might tell whether it is an internal code, an abbreviation, or a symbol. In terms of hazards, there are standardized warning signs ("hazard symbols") for most any hazard you can think of, and their use is mandatory for a company.
