Funny enough, 'jelly babies' are pretty much unknown the US. The closest would probably be 'gummy bears'. We do have jelly beans, which have a kind of solid, sugary coating. I think HarryHedgehog's answer would work for a US audience.

You can have "gummy" anything - bears, worms, fish, coke bottles...

Also can be "gummi" in English.

But not jelly babies, at least not around here.
