German term

Betrag Wsch

German to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
An abbreviation from a bank transaction record -- it's a column heading. "Betrag" I know, but does anyone have any idea what the abbreviation "Wsch" is supposed to be?

Non-ProZ.com (asker) Apr 26, 2008:
The letter order "Wsch" rather than "Wchs" makes me think it might be something else. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
babli Apr 26, 2008:

It could be short form for Wechsel.
Non-ProZ.com (asker) Apr 25, 2008:
Add'l info It appears to be simply the record of a six-figure sum being transferred into a bank in Dubai.
Kim Metzger Apr 25, 2008:
Maybe it would help if you told us what kind of bank transaction this was.

Possibly stands for "Wertschriften", though I've never seen it abbreviated as such. I think any answer is going to be a "best guess" scenario, and consulting the client would be your best option.
