balance sheet or annual financial statements is not fully incorrect but also not quite to the point.. since the positions listed under assets exclude non current items and those under equity all the liabilities.. rather the author(s) seem(s) to refer to a ratio for analysis of the financial position, i.e. whether equity is solid or not.
