"Mit Hilfe von faseroptischen Querschnittswandlern oder Querschnittswandler-aufsätzen ist durch die extrem seitliche Lichtzufuhr vor allem bei forensischen Anwendungen die Struktur der zu beleuchtenden Fläche besser erkennbar."
A glossary on Proz gives "sectional transformer", but this term only produces 5 hits using a meta-search engine.
