German term

Anwärterbezüge

German to English Bus/Financial Education / Pedagogy
"Außerdem erhalte ich auch bereits während des Studiums Anwärterbezüge (eine Art Ausbildungsentgelt)." A candidate on a dual vocational training scheme (while working for the civil service) talks about the payments she is receiving. Is this simply some kind of 'training grant'? I cannot quite figure out the specific nature of it, i.e. how it differs from the standard "Ausbildungsentgelt" also mentioned.
Proposed translations (English)
4 +2 salary of a trainee civil servant
4 aspirant's pay
2 +1 internship compensation

Thank you, Mr Swift. I'm afraid I'm unable to decipher "IW4P". Pray tell, what does it stand for? // Oh, ok. I get it now.
agree hazmatgerman (X) : deciphering: perhaps something to do with "4 points"?

aspirant's pay

You have aspirants, cadets for example in the armed forces, police aspirants, public service....
Means they already part of their organisations and after finishing the become an officer, a policeman...
What they earn is a salary like their colleges. That's not a training grant.

they are not only students, but also probationary civil servants. For the duration of their degree course they receive civil servant trainee salaries .

agree Paul Skidmore : for a UK audience this is the closest to the mark. In the asker's phrase I would say "I receive the salary of a trainee civil servant". There's probably no need to translate the "(eine Art Ausbildungsentgelt)"

Thank you very much, Mr Skidmore
