"Außerdem erhalte ich auch bereits während des Studiums Anwärterbezüge (eine Art Ausbildungsentgelt)." A candidate on a dual vocational training scheme (while working for the civil service) talks about the payments she is receiving. Is this simply some kind of 'training grant'? I cannot quite figure out the specific nature of it, i.e. how it differs from the standard "Ausbildungsentgelt" also mentioned.

: for a UK audience this is the closest to the mark. In the asker's phrase I would say "I receive the salary of a trainee civil servant". There's probably no need to translate the "(eine Art Ausbildungsentgelt)"
