German term

Störungsaufkommen

German to English Bus/Financial
Talking about cash recycling in ATMs and the effect which crumpled or dirty banknotes might have: "Auch wenn dies kurzfristig zu einem erhöhten Störungsaufkommen führen sollte, sind die Vorteile durch die Reduzierung der Transportkosten langfristig erheblich."

malfunction frequency

I would translate Störung in this context of ATMs with malfunction and Aufkommen with frequency as it refers to the number of times the malfunction occurs.

increased number of malfunctions

I'm presuming its saying the crumpled notes may block the machine! "Stoerung" as in the time the ATM is out of order?

Stoerungsanzeiger: malfunction indicator
Stoerungsdauer: downtime
