German term

Fimmenit (Leuchttorf)

German to English Science Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-) moor
Weitere Bestandteile sind organische Moormineralien, wie z.B. Dopplerit,
eine im frischen Zustand wasserreiche, gelartige braunschwarze
Substanz, **Fimmenit (Leuchttorf)**, der aus zusammengespülten
Pollenmassen von Wildblütlern besteht, sowie Fichtelit,
kristalIisiertes Harz von Moor Koniferen. Sie treten äußerst fein auf.

Back to the moor again. My problem is Leuchttorf. I found fimmenite (don't know if that is right though). I guess Leuchttorf is luminous peat.

Any help appreciated!!

fimmenite

The item in brackets is the 'non-scientific' lay term. Why not just omit it and stick with 'fimmenite' which you know does exist?

FWIW Google says:
Results 1 - 10 of about 135 for "leuchtmoos"
Results 1 - 10 of about 819 for "luminous moss"
Your search - "leuchttorf" - did not match any documents
Results 1 - 1 of 1 for "luminous peat"

You could take a chance on 'luminous peat' but why bother?
