I did not mention accounting period although it is listed in Eichborn as well, because:

1. In general, the time period reflected by a set of financial statements.
2. In terms of taxation, it is the 12-month period a taxpayer uses to determine their income tax.
Billing period is the period after that a company pays its bills. E.g. they collect all invoices for a week and then pay all of them in a single batch job
