Hi Niamh. This is very likely not about the age of creditors (why should they analyse the age of creditors?) or bad debt provisions (creditors in this context, not accounts receivable) but about the aging of accounts payable. In this due diligence they use this aging analysis to see if the analysed company paid its bills in time or if an adjustment of the purchase price is needed. Check out Google to verify that \"aging\" is a common term in this context.

age analysis

I don't see what aging (getting older) has to do with this. I think they just mean an analysis of the creditors' ages.

IAS 39 contains a very specific methodology for calculating a loan loss charge or bad debt provision. The use of old provisioning matrices such as a simple age analysis will not produce the correct answer.
