: "Carrying amount" would be right irrespective of accounting standard, and "notional value" would be equally OK for Nominalwert.

... which would have to be understood in the sense of "(bilanziell?) angesetzter (OR ausgewiesener) Wert". However, this is still somewhat speculative as you haven't provided enough detail.

Does this relate to items of a balance sheet, a P&L account...?

Outside a strict BS/P&L context, this could very well be a value used as a basis for some sort of calculation - so more context would come in handy.
