"Teinture en plongée" means piece dyed. So presumably this is a similar process, except using a bleaching agent/acid wash. It may mean something like this:

Uses water with addition of chemical product, bleach, etc. As opposed to stone-wash, acid-wash, or other newer "clean", eco-friendly techniques developed by M&F Girbaud.
The term does not specify acid or bleach or other chemical that may be used.
