French term

carte à pointe

French to English Tech/Engineering
Context: type specification for software prototype
Can this be a card used as a transport--with edges or points that connect one component to another?
Thanks in advance.

pin card (as in Pin Panasonic Memory Cards)

The way this was done was by the use of SIMMS(single inline memory modules) that were 30 or 72 pin expansion cards that went into slots in the motherboard. Now, there is another, called DIMM (dual inline memory modules) DIMM are 72 or 128 pin cards.

We are able to manufacture Probe cards with up to 750 needles to test components, even in parallel.

MESA PROBE
This probe is configurable from 8 to 32 pins with pin-pitch from 0,5 to 1,27 mm.

Pin Panasonic Memory Cards;

9&15 Pin cards are obsolete (network cards)

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you for your help: this was the right idea. But I also went to the GDT and looking simply under "pointe" I found my answer, which I include for your reference: probe (pointe n. f.)

(test socket) load board

Here is the *only* text I've located using "carte de pointe" in French:

TESTEURS PARAMETRIQUES

Termium has the following for "prise de mesure":

And here are some examples I managed to come up with involving boards (your "carte") where test sockets are used:
