French term
chaîne d’assurage
French to English
Other
Sports / Fitness / Recreation
Climbing
Hi,
I understand that this is the collective term for everything inc. the rope, the harness etc but what would be the correct term in English?!
(Also if you would happen to know what the piece of equipment called the "appareils d’assurage" would be in English I would be very grateful!)
Any help much appreciated!!

safety apparatus
I prefer a combination of the two. I like the way safety rolls off the tongue, but apparatus is more open - it could be a chain, harness etc
