Entre Objet et Population, il peut enfin s'agir d'un rapport de contingence. On pourrait substituer un objet à un autre (respectivement une population à une autre) *******sans effet définitoire******* particulier. Par exemple, l'arbre pour une population "tout venant" ou pour une population d'étudiants en odontologie ; l'infirmière (Objet) chez les cadres commerciaux ou les producteurs de riz, etc. La limite de la contingence est évidemment l'absurdité. On se gardera de chercher des exemples.

this is still discussing relationships (contingency, congruency, incidence,...) between Object and Population, Population and Method, etc.
I'm not sure of the meaning of "effet définitoire" here, let alone how to translate it! I originally assumed that it referred back to the verb (substituer... sans effet...), but now wonder if it couldn't possibly be related to the noun (population sans effet...)
I'm currently using "defining effect", but this seems pretty meaningless (to me!). I equally don't want to expand the term too much if a concise "social psychology" term exists.
Any help would be most welcome. Thanks!

in other words, the smaller group can be replaced by another smaller group but this will not impact on the defining nature of their relationship with the tree (in this case)
Note from asker:
thanks, I think you've once again hit the nail on the head! This coincides perfectly with one of my interpretations, but, as before, far better put! |
