French term

en déploie

French to English Art/Literary Other museum exhibit
I think this has to be a typo, but with the time difference I can't ask the client tonight, so I wanted to get confirmation from others about whether or not the following sentence makes sense. The "en deploie" doesn't make sense to me. Seems to me that it should be something like "L’aménagement de cet espace a été déployé en trois dimensions..." Thoughts?

L’aménagement de cet espace en déploie en trois dimensions, en utilisant comme élément organisateur les poutres métalliques, moyens et symboles de la reconstruction.

siragui Oct 11, 2007:
OK, OK, the sentence could be construed in such a way as to make it mean something if "en déploie" signifies "deploys some", but some what? Is there a reference to something mentioned earlier? I'll bet there isn't.
siragui Oct 11, 2007:
How about this: They mean "se déploie", the typo possibly caused by anticipating the "en" which was to follow. Correct this, and it makes perfect sense; as is the sentence is meaningless.

The space to be developed is to be used in three dimensions, employing...

Hello,

L'aménagement = developing
de cet espace = of this space
déploie = makes use of
en trois dimensions = in three dimensions

As for the "en", I think it is referring to "de cet espace."

The word "en" is frequently seen before "déployer."

So, literally, we have something like: Development of this space makes use of it in three dimensions.

Although "en" does often appear in front on "déployer", it does seem a little awkward. But, after I look at it for a while, it doesn't seem incorrect at all. I can make sense of it.

You can't use "use" in the same sentence as that would sound a little funny. So, mix it up. Use "employ" in the latter half of the sentence.

I hope this helps.
Example sentence:

According to the environmentalist movement, it is always important to use space in three dimensions.
