: 'Motionless' no, 'stable', possibly, but even then more likely to refer to volatile chemicals or gases liable to cause an explosion.

or "maintained as static" seems to be simplest way of dealing with this, then there is no chance of misinterpretation
"static" can mean motionless/stable/stationary etc etc as already said but it can also mean in terms of "static pressure/force/weight acting but causing no movement"
