French term

PPD

French to English Medical Medical (general) Summary form
Hi,
This is a handwritten form from Quebec.
Under "Concomitant diagnoses" I have the following:
s/p MAC pulmonaire
s/ PPD + Tx 6 mois 2007 (the plus sign is circled)
s/p PNA bactériémique
s/p VPPB

I think PPD might be an English acronym for either "posterior polymorphous dystrophy" or for "purified protein derivative" which is a tuberculosis test....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Joanna

Peer comment(s):

agree Michael Barnett : I agree that the PPD refers to the TB test. The circle around the "+" is sort of an exclamation that the test was positive. I think she was treated for 6 months. BTW, there is no control for PPD. Once positive, it is always positive.

Thank you Michael// I was thinking more of control as follow-up.
