Hi,

rivets?

In this alternative, the external diameter of the upper crown and lower crown is substantially higher than the diameter of the opening. Consequently, by tightening these screws, the upper crown (the rivets of the upper crown) and the lower crown press against the support plat

Louisa Tchaicha (asker) May 25, 2011:
@Bourth Hi, I will not be putting "rivets" :)
Here is another instance where "plots" is used:

More context might help determine where these are, what their purpose is, etc.

I'd be very wary of driving a car if I thought the gear change was held together by rivets. They are fine in certain situations, but not in mechanical situations as a rule!

Rivets would be OK for a plastic/electronic computer racing game gear change device, but even so this would be the first time I've seen plot meaning "rivet".

You could do worse than "studs". The metal "mushroom head" studs used to mark French zebra crossings are plots, as are studs used on quaysides, at pavement edges, as tactile warnings for the visual-acuity-deficient
