French term

vis tête cyl 6pans creux

French to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering Types of screws
Can anyone tell me if there is any difference between this type of screw and a "vis cyl 6pans creux", for which I have the translation "hexagon head screw"?

I found cheesehead screw for vis tête cylindrique but not sure if this takes the hexagonal and hollow bits into account. Any clarity greatly appreciated.

Also called "vis BTR" after BTR Industries that invented it:

BTR Industries est une filiale du groupe TEXTRON ... BTR (Bureau Technique Raigoroski), qui fait partie de ce dernier domaine, est spécialisé dans la frappe à froid, principalement pour l'automobile. Cette société est notamment à l'origine des très célèbres vis à 6 pans ("vis BTR").

Thanks
agree Tony M : 'cheese-head' would be OK, in conjunction with the 'hex' and the 'socket' bit, for the UK / Right, so it IS the same thing

agree narasimha (X) : Eveything is right except that it is not a cap screw, but a cylindrical headed screw with a sunk hexagonal socket
