French term

cotisations sociales (as opposed to charges sociales)

French to English Law/Patents Law (general) labour law/HR
We've all translated (and many of us have paid far too much...) "charges sociales", but I've just run into a sentence that has both "cotisations sociales" and "charges sociales".

Context: law firm memo to a corporate client that needs to let go of an employee on economic grounds and addressing the various dismissal options (and their respective costs).

Unfortunately, the text doesn't contain anything else that might help us.

Many thanks for your help.
