English translation:
Pre-Occupancy Inspection
French term
Valoir état des lieux d’entrée
…l’achèvement et la prise de possession seront constatés par un procès-verbal contradictoire, lequel vaudra état des lieux d’entrée.
The last part of the sentence throws me. Any help would be appreciated.

deemed a check-in inventory report
A check-out inventory or, if need be, a Schedule of Dilpadiations vs. of Condition would come at the end of the tenancy.
Add the word report, unless included in the translation of 'procès-verbal contradictoire' so a mutual report vs. joint affidavit.

Try for the US: deemed a move-in inspection report or *walk-through*
https://www.apartments.com/rental-manager/resources/article/...
IATE: fr état des lieux d'entrée EP en état des lieux at the beginning of the lease
The check-in report should provide both an inventory of contents and a schedule of the condition of the property and its contents at the start of the tenancy.
Thanks, Adrian. That pretty much clears the matter up for me. I don't know what it would be in the USA either (this is supposed to be in US English) but I'll work around it. |

In fact, instead of "check-in" or "incoming", I would just get it down to basics!
"inventory of fixtures AT THE START OF THE LEASE" or "WHEN THE LESSEE TOOK POSSESSION OF THE BUILDING", to get all fancy and technical.
Now that couldn't be any clearer!!!
To Chris (AllegroTrans):
"The inventory of fixtures is an official visit you conduct in the apartment with your landlord before moving in, and also a document that helps compare the ***condition*** of the apartment when you get in and when you leave. It forms the basis for the return of the security deposit."
