French term
droit de suite
I see from previous ProZ reference "piggy back rights", but this seems to be synonymous with "tag-along rights"
Can anyone differentiate these two please?

I understand that "droit de suite" seems to apply mostly in the case of artists, etc., but in this particular case could not the Investors have "residual" rights in the event the "Groupe Majoritaire" has lost controle? I don't know what the nature of the enterprise is here, but it still seems somewhat logical.
Hello Timothy! This area is a bit of a nightmare and I think that this might well be a good answer for authors' rights, copyright (and Bridge runs into 8 definitions!) And of course lawyers are not 100% |
right to trace or follow property into the hands of a third person; mortgagee's right to attach the mortgaged property and have it sold to answer the mortgage debt into whoever's hands it may have passed; rights of persons entitled to a privilège (right to preferentail payment) to follow property; right of a secured creditor to take possession of the security even if in the possession of a third party...and ON and On! |

Thank you Reeny. I think that is a fair reference and helps future readers |

I see no reason to recall your translation on my account.
Hello Mr O'Helpful. I sent this in this morning using "residual rights". From what I can see in Blacks, neither "continuation" nor "residual" have great legal meaning. Or am I wrong? |
Too late, I just popped over to Sidney and pencilled in "continutation". I thought it was one of those legal-type words. Just checking me insurance cover. Oh dear. |
Thank you Mr O'Helpful. It was a toss up. Really. |
