French term
contrat de restitution

Law: Contract(s)
In a concession agreement concerning a power generator installed near a waterfall, I have an article which relates to neighbours' rights to use the water and a "restitution en nature" carried out by the concession holder. Apologies for the lack of accents but they appear as symbols when I preview the question.

compensation agreement
restitution en nature = compensation in kind (in this case, probably in the form of electricity at reduced rates or free of charge).
The term "compensation"is used here as indemnification for loss of or privation (quasi-expropriation). In the subject instance, a FAIR COMPENSATION is just both to the "neighbours" and the concession holder.

Note from asker:
This definitely works perfectly, thank you. The document goes on to say (which I hadn't realised at the time) that "indemnisation en eau ou en energie" was granted for the rights acquired :-) |

I am just concerned that this may only apply to war victims.

Well actually, it appears that it can be used in this type of context:http://www.uswaternews.com/archives/arcpolicy/2kanand5.html

: that mention of a "restitution agreement" in your link may actually refer to a legal restitution (i.e. cash)... It's impossible to tell from the context
