: "Apprehended" has two meanings in English: perceive and arrest. The context doesn't make it clear enough that this is not about being "arrested", which is how I'd automatically interpret your English translation. Sorry to disagree.

Also, "catch" is a bit informal; I'm not sure I'd use it here. I'd have to think more about it.
