My IT dictionary and GDT confirm that 'chaînage' means 'chaining, but they don't explain how 'en chaînage' works in a sentence. I can't use 'in chaining', but there must be a correct way to express this. Here's the phrase in context:
"Ne sont pas incluses dans la maintenance les prestations suivantes :
...la maintenance des logiciels autres que ceux spécifiés et notamment ceux qui fonctionneraient en chaînage avec eux"
"Ne sont pas incluses dans la maintenance les prestations suivantes :

You can tell a chained program from others by the way it says "Whip me, please, whip me!".

Linked is nice and vague, I feel. What is says is....maintenance of software other than that specified and in particular any [other software] which may operate/function by [means of] being linked/connected to it [the specified software].
Hence your specified software may either use info from some other software, or provide info to some other software, or indeed both (these links forming a chain, hence the term), but they ain't gonna maintain this other software...

The 'may' is intended to represent the conditional in the French, so that bit was on purpose - I freely admit the suggested phrase may need a bit of tweaking :-)
