French term

l'entité d'accueil

French to English Bus/Financial Human Resources Secondment contract for a bank executive
This term is used repeatedly for the overseas branch to which the executive is being seconded, as distinct from "l'entité d'origine". Does anyone know of a neat corresponding term in English? On another forum, someone suggested "placement company" or "company offering placement", but that seems imprecise.

host (country) entity

As opposed to the home (country) entity.

Google for EXPATRIATION HOME HOST ENTITY for a lot of good references

To be fair, "company" will often fit the bill, but if in doubt then entity is safer.

From personal experience, I know that Shell use home and host with company. Although expatriation is, for example, from Shell in the UK to Shell in the Netherlands, these will be two different companies within the Shell group.

The word country is often included, at least to begin with, to make it clear that this is an expatriation rather than a secondment within the home country.

agree kashew : I would avoid "company" as it's a branch of his originating one. Entity seems OK
