Du coup, la mort dans l’âne, je me suis rabattu sur l’horrible boui-boui dont la principale qualité gastronomique est d’être à 2 minutes chrono du bureau, 1 minute 30 par grande pluie.

Discussion

Joan Berglund Mar 24, 2008:
The chairs in this cafe must be exceptionally uncomfortable. I think this translation is going to need a lot of annotation.
Ghyslaine LE NAGARD Mar 23, 2008:
Do you have to translate the whole text as it is full of such wordplay not always very easy to decipher for a non native French ?
veratek (asker) Mar 23, 2008:
Merci!
veratek (asker) Mar 23, 2008:
la mort dans l'âMe - and what would this refer to in this context? death gripping his soul? fear gripping his soul? what is he so afraid of, the rain and getting wet? I didn't get it yet...
Alain Pommet Mar 23, 2008:
I think it's 'âne' intentionally -makes it funnier.
Ghyslaine LE NAGARD Mar 23, 2008:
After looking at the text I believe the writer purposely made the typos as there are a number of them which end up being wordpays, such as "l'estomac dans l'étalon" which should read "l'estomac dans les talons" etc.
Bon courage !

Ghyslaine LE NAGARD Mar 23, 2008:
should read "la mort dans l'âMe"
