I think it would be a shame to leave out the added colour of what this was a mill for; as far as I can ascertain, what it basically means is that it was used just to produce animal feed, rather than for flour as well (as my own mill was).
I'm sure Francis's suggestion of 'cereal slurry' is technically accurate, but perhaps not quite so appealing for a toursit document as the more sanitary 'feed mill'
Almost certainly, this would have been a crushing mill rather than a grinding mill.
There are LOTS of different kinds of mill, qualified by what they produce(d), just 'cos we've lost so many of these in the UK is no reason to impoverish other countries whose heritage hasn't fallen down (yet!)

Just plain old.....
I believe that in English (UK not sure if same applies to US) we use 'mill' to mean place where flour or similar is milled rather than qualify it unless it is a water mill or pepper mill or cotton mill ( and there are probably some others that I have forgotten)

I think this must be a peculiarity of the English language and you could simply translated the sentence as .. ' the old mill'

: But if they bother to qualify it in FR, because they think people might be interested, and it might tell you something about the type of building it is, why suppress that just because *maybe* we dont' have the same thing in the UK? Could be 'feed mill'...
