French term
suite de 4 mets
French to English

Food & Drink
"Suite de 4 mets, fromages et desserts"
on a menu.
This is quite a pricey restaurant, and this is on a surprise menu. Should I just keep it close to the French, "suite of 4 dishes, cheeseboard and dessert", or is there a nice way to go a bit further, which sounds better in English, e.g. "Symphony of 4 courses..."?

Selected
A series of four dishes
followed by the cheeseboard and a selection of desserts.
I would say selection of desserts because they have used the plural and if it is a fancy surprise menu then there is probably more than one involved.

Comment: "Thanks everyone. I've chosen Mark's suggestion as it is less ambiguous about whether this is a 4 or 6 course meal."

: A traditional four-course meal includes dessert and cheese. A three-course meal doesn't have cheese ( in the UK).

Four Course Menu/Dinner
I don't think in English we become very "musical" when it comes to dinner. :)

: You don't need to add cheeseboard and dessert - they're included in a 4-course meal.

4 courses "en suivant" followed by...
I believe "four course meal" normally includes cheese and dessert, whereas this seems to be a 6 course meal, which would explain the price..
