French term

sucreries et bonbons

French to English Marketing Food & Drink Confectionery
Whats the difference between sucreries and bonbons?

I have a list of items including confiserie, sucreries et bonbons. Confiserie is of course confectionery - but would maybe chocolate bars (Mars, Bounty etc.) be counted as sucreries?

Merci d'avance

I wouldn't put Mars and Bounty bars in the "sucreries et bonbons" shelf. These are more in the "goûters" or "barres chocolatées" class of food. Hope it helps

sweets, treats/candy and chocolate

Interestingly, the dictionary has sweets (Brit) and candy (US) for both terms. However, I think we would make a difference with chocolate and the folllowing link does that. Also, it's quite common in English (UK) to speak about sweets, chocolate and candy (bars)

candy bars and sweets

"Candy bar" would cover any type of confectionary in bar form, which may not necessarily be made of chocolate. "Sweets" would be any individual small items of confectionary.
