In fact it has to do with the "exit process" from an investment, meaning to get back the money (or other assets if you are a venture founder for example) you have invested in a venture.
In the link above there is a paragraph saying:
"the Innovation Fund typically:
- Requires preferential exit to BEE investors for its equity position, and requires a veto right on any share transaction that results in more than 49% of the company being foreign owned. "
Meaning that "BEE investors" will have priority on other investors to sell their shares

Here is a link giving a definition and explanation about "Exit Strategy":
"A fund's intended method for liquidating its holdings while achieving the maximum possible return. These strategies depend on the exit climates including market conditions and industry trends. Exit strategies can include selling or distributing the portfolio company's shares after an initial public offering (IPO), a sale of the portfolio company or a recapitalization."

: It could be this, depending on the context, or granting of preferred stock as in the answer below.

thanks joe, yes preferential exit agreement includes the granting of preferred stock, even if as stated in your exemple below "Clause de Sortie Préférentielle" means "preferential exit clause" and "action de préférence" means "preferred stock".

Preferential Release
I think this has to do with the release and allocation of shares.

granting of preferred stock
Often when companies are taken over, or a sizable amount of capital is invested, the acquirer or financier asks for stock with special privileges which is called preferred stock.
The following passage explains sortie préférentielle in French. The stock is called 'preferred stock' in English.

Also, in the UK there is what is called 'preference share without voting rights'. In the US, these are called either 'preferred non-voting stock', or 'preferred share without voting rights'.
