French term

fumisteries

French to English Tech/Engineering Engineering: Industrial Steam boilers
Context:
La mise en service à chaud [of the boiler] permet [...] le séchage des réfractaires (afin de chasser l'humidité contenue dans les fumisteries et les réfractaires)".

Is "Linings" too specific?

flues, flue linings

Given that the activity "fumisterie" refers to chimney engineering, I imagine your text is referring to the "chimney" parts of the system after the boiler. Sure, lighting the boiler will dry out the refractory elements in the furnace, but the hot exhaust gases will also dry out the flues.

exhaust stacks

if i understand the french sentence, they talk about 2 things: the "fumisterie" (exhaust stacks, piping of the boiler) and the refractories. drying out of the stacks, means reducing the water content in it to prevent condensation...i dont think that "lining" is necessary at all.

Comment: "Thanks for your suggestion which is usable, IMO, although I preferred to use "flues"."
