French term

grain de bossage

French to English Tech/Engineering Engineering: Industrial railways
Still on my rail document re adapting bogies for increased loads:

I can't find anything for "grain de bossage" - any suggestions gratefully received!

Many thanks for all your efforts, Marianne - I've closed without grading in the end as the client also felt it was a bushing or seal ring of some kind. Thanks again!
Non-ProZ.com Aug 1, 2005:
Thanks for all the suggestions, Marianne, but I'm not sure that grain size works in the context. I know grain can refer to a seal ring and bossage is something which projects, so I was thinking along the lines of a "projecting seal ring" - but this is very much a guess!

Hi Marianne - there have been other typos in this document, so it could be - I'm afraid that doesn't make me any the wiser though!
Marianne van Lunter Aug 1, 2005:
C'est grain de brossage
