without removal of (asbestos-containing) floor coverings/products
In other words, if you want to remove such products during renovation, you'll need to call in someone else, a specialist.

In English, it would sound too choppy to use a more direct translation and say \"...renovations without using floor coverings that contain asbestos.\"

: Julie, sorry again, but "renovation sans dépose des produits de sol..." doesn't mean "renovations WITHOUT using floor coverings that contain asbestos", but "...renovations USING floor coverings that contain asbestos" It means "keep existing products". J-M

Hummmmm... I thought there may have been a typo and it was "déposer". I see what you mean and I must agree with you and David.

renovations using existing asbestos floor coverings
That's exactly what the french sentence says. "Dépose" is the opposite of "pose", and it means that the renovation will use the existing materials without remove them.

Bourth (X)
: "Using" could be misleading (implying application of NEW asbestos-based products). "Retaining" would be better. Presumably they simply don't touch the material. "asbestos-based" maybe.

Yes, you're right, but my intent was to explain exactly the french phrase. I understood later my mistake but there were already the answer of David. Bye, Jean-Marie
