(spare) part code

Should be in the glossary, we've had PDR before, and it often turns out to be 'pièce de réchange' = 'spare part' — could that fit your context?

Likely to be an internal company code, unless these components are universal and international — as is the case, for example, with some military equipment.

All depends, of course, too on whether these codes are being listed by the company that manufactures the equipment / spares or not?

spares can be either wear parts that are likely to break or wear out (i.e. only a subset of all the parts of the machine) — clearly where the idea of 'réchange' comes in; or they may be ALL the parts of the machine (on the basis that at some point someone might for some reason need to change ANY part on the machine)

In any case, a machine manufacturer will of course have to carry stocks of every single part, and therefore will need a code for them.

Note also the alternative term 'pièce détachée'.
Note from asker:
quite possible, but would it be some international or national code - or internal company code?
all these parts make up one machine
