I agree with BDs comment. We are not talking about heat pumps, but about heating in general. But circulation pumps are used in both installations.

@Asker NB "Heat pump" means something totally different! This is very clearly not about heat pumps, but about heating circulation pumps.

@ Johannes Sadly, those Google figures are far too small to have any kind of statistical meaning; if one term had 10,000 Ghits and another 10× fewer, then it might start to mean something. But the differences here are insignificant.

"heating pump" would be OK — to my ears, it sounds like more of a layperson's term, and 'circulator' is the term I have seen and heard used by professionals.

Although I always feel that quoting Google statistics is a meaningless exercise, just to redress the balance, let it be known that searching on "pompe de circulation" "circulator" returns a rather more respectable 8,670 Ghits.

Thanks, B! Well, we must just have been talking to different professsionals, as this is the term I have universally heard during my contacts with architects, HVAC contractors, etc. I think all these terms are acceptable synonyms
