French term
tolet

I know that this is an oarlock or thole pin used in rowboats; what puzzles me is what this is doing in my general regulations on electrical installations... Hereinafter, the offending paragraph:
5.2.3. La partie de la lance entre la pièce métallique du pulvérisation et la poignée arrière du tolet, ainsi que la poignée intermédiaire sont constituées d'une matière non conductrice tant aux sollicitations diélectriques liées à la tension de service.
This, by the way, has to do with cleaning (in this case by spraying, vaccuuming, etc.) of live parts...
I am now going to sing, "With a thole in my heart!"
And, oh, for the simple joys of translatorhood...

pin
Probably a pin on which the trigger pivots, or a locking device.
Also depends on size: pin smaller dia. than bar. Rod sounds too long.
e.g. pin in a hand grenade.

Comment: "I decided to go with 'pin' although I put (thole) pin, just in case. I am assuming it has to do with the shape of a thole pin, rather than a thole pin in particular... Thanks!"

pistol grip
Wild guess: typo for "PIStolet"? The business ends of some pressure cleaners, for example, have at least one pistol-like grip.

That is an interesting suggestion, thanks... |

: yes - I was thinking that 'pistolet' would really make sense here, but it does seem like an unlikely typo
