Discussion

Tony M Sep 25, 2011:
Clues Asker's other question here:

may give us some clues as to what this 'IM' is.

As the context gradually trickles through, I'm wondering if this couldn't be something along the lines of 'isolateur manuel' --- it certainly seems to be something to do with switching, as it appears alongside other switching devices, and is often 'fermé'

IM EDF feed

My reading ...
'IM EDF' is no doubt a coded reference to a facility operated by EDF, and should not be translated.

hypothetical example, assuming its in France: feed for the 'EDF facility at Ile de Marne'

What the facility is (power station?, hydroelectric dam?, switch station?, etc.) and wether its a feed 'to' or 'from' is unclear from the short extract from the document.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : I suspect IM describes the tech. function, and it's probably EDF IM feed, or IM feed for / to EDF
