No! Whatever the definitive answer turns out to be, I am quite sure that 'brute power' would certainly not be correct EN here.

Yes, you can just drop the "brute", it's typical French redundancy.

At the end of the day the ratio is the power output over the power input.

I'm sorry for insisting, but do you mean that puissance brute= puissance d'entrée?
As I have already translated "puissance d'entrée" by "input power" and "puissance nette" by "output capacity" then what about "input capacity" for "puissance brute"?
