French term

cloche

French to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng junction box for optical fiber cables
In a patent (EP1422542, full text available at www.freepatentsonline.com/EP1422542.html) for a junction box for fiber optical cables resistant to extremely high temperatures.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

(bell) housing

In certain other engineering contexts, this represents a bell-housing, though sometimes in EN the 'bell' is left off.

It could be appropriate here, but you really need to know the size and shape of this element, and the exact way it relates to the other components.
